Township Government is one of the oldest forms of government; dating back to the 17th-century. There are 1006 townships in Indiana. Township Government is a "grassroots" form of government, often at the forefront of assisting residents in need. Portage Township; the largest township in Porter County, is comprised of the City of Portage, unincorporated Porter County; including the South Haven Community and the Town of Ogden Dunes.
Portage Township Trustee Brendan Clancy will be providing transportation to Portage Township residents who have scheduled their COVID-19 vaccination appointments at the Porter County Department of Health Willowcreek Road vaccination site adjacent to the Portage Township Trustee’s office and have no other means of transportation to receive their vaccination.
The service will begin Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The new vaccination site is located at 3590 Willowcreek Road, Suite C.

Vaccination appointments are now available to residents age 65 and older and can be scheduled by going to , enter your information and then input the Portage zip code 46368 to find the Willowcreek Road location to schedule the appointment.
Portage Township residents needing assistance in making an appointment for their vaccination may also call the trustee's office at 219-762-1623 for assistance.
Due to Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb's announcement Wednesday afternoon postponing openings of congregate senior centers, Portage Township Trustee Brendan Clancy has announced the Bonner Senior Center will remain closed until further notice.
